Repair & Restoration: Hand Sewing for the Heart — Lauren Grace Williamson

In all of its forms and at every skill level, hand sewing is a powerful tool. When paired with intention and creativity, stitching can engage the body with similar impact to a prayer bead practice. In the words of artist Louise Bourgeois, “The act of sewing is a process of emotional repair.”

In this workshop, we will learn some basic functional and decorative stitches while considering how the act of hand sewing can open our hearts and minds. The ultimate goal is not perfection, rather to play and start or further develop your own hand sewing practice.

The Art of Support: Grant Seeking for Creatives — Stephanie Robinson

This is a welcoming workshop that reframes the steps of grant seeking as an opportunity to build connection and find solidarity in the pursuit of art that matters. We will explore how asking for funding can be an act of advocacy from a place of power, challenging myths of scarcity and nurturing a belief in the abundance of resources available for creative work.
